It may be cold outside, but Company has discovered that a new tanning trend is set to hit the UK in time for the Christmas party season...
Sun tattoos or Tanttoos are a way of getting a sortof temporary tattoo - all you need to do is slap on a special sticker and head for a spray tan! Once you’ve changed from a pasty white to a gorgeous golden brown, peel away the sticker and you’re left with your Tanttoo (tatto...tantoo - geddit?). Tanttoos come in a choice of design and can be used just about anywhere on the body. They promise a “kissed by the sun” glamorous look which is already proving popular with fashionistas. French entrepreneur and self-confessed sun worshipper Emmanuel Adnot had the idea for Tanttoo during his holiday last year.
Mr Adnot said: “I was in Cuba with friends and one applied some sun screen badly leaving the outline of a hand on his back for six weeks.
“We talked about the idea among ourselves, researched it with our fellow holiday makers and after lots of positive feedback turned the concept into Tanttoo. We are now quickly expanding in the UK, Europe and Australia.”
Tanttoos, come in packs of three and promise a ‘glamorous and elegant result’. Inside the packs are adhesive shapes which you stick on your skin before a fake tan session, which is all that’s needed to create the sun tattoo. Tanttoo creates a stunning result visible for up to two months -so we'll make sure we apply it correctly first time!
Mr Adnot added: “Tanttoos are proving a hit for several reasons. Firstly for the surprise factor as they are new and unique, secondly because they can communicate something about the wearer – for example by having a peace symbol Tanttoo. They also impress and catch attention.
“A Tanttoo is much more elegant and appealing than a fake tattoo. It lasts longer and looks great. They also make quirky gifts – perfect for a Christmas stocking filler.”

After the session is complete the sun bather removes the sticker – leaving a white outline on the tanned skin – the Tanttoo.

The Tanttoo stickers, which have been specially made to adhere to the skin for up to three days, are waterproof and non-allergenic.
Mr Adnot said: “Whilst the result is immediate after a spray tan, for outdoor use our sticker can be left on for a few days. Wearers can enjoy sun, sea and surf knowing it will remain in place.”
