LFW Backstage Beauty: Ashish
Georgina Graham promised this make up would be the easiest look to recreate well see all week. Using tinted moisturiser as a base she mixed MAC Pro Glitter in Pink with Vaseline and patted it around the eye then sketched MAC Night Moth Lip Pencil over lips followed by a slick of Cyber Lipstick and a drop of gloss. Nails were given the glitter treatment too with a sprinkle of the same glitter over a still-wet base coat and left to dry. Voila!

LFW Backstage Beauty: Ashish
With a collection centred on flowers and doc martens femininity meets masculinity in the hair and makeup backstage at Ashish think city girl goes to a festival! With that in mind hair was inspired by a walk in meadow with lashings of LOreal Tec Ni Art Pli and Texture Tonic dried into the roots to give it a fluffy, windswept texture and swell the hair for lots of volume before being loosely plaited down the side and pulled over the shoulder. LOVE!
LFW BEAUTY: Sass & Bide
Sass and Bide was AWESOME not least because Peaches, Dionne Bromfield and Paloma (with enormous flowers on her head) were all front row.
The make-up was David Bowie sculpted cheekbones, gold metallic eyes and super strong brows. Make-up artist Terri Barber used MAC's new Metal-X Cream Shadow (out in December) in Venetian Tarnish and Fusion Gold they're amazing so definitely check them out for Christmas party make-up.

LFW Backstage Beauty: Richard Nicoll
Hair had a pretty moment over at Richard Nicoll as Luke Hersheson created a soft ballerina bun on freshly washed hair. Securing hair into a pony at the bone on the back of the head, twisted it on itself and pinned it in place tugging slightly to create bagginess at the back. Mak eup was hyper-real verging on futuristic with lunar highlights (using MAC Pigment in Shell) over perfect skin creating a glowy, glossy effect. Translucent powder was tinged onto the very centre of the cheek for depth as 60s liner was given a conceptual twist with pieces of black vinyl cut into small rectangle shapes and stuck onto the outer corner of the eye with no mascara and brushed up brows. All over body glossing left the models looking like space babies. Marian Newman gave toes the metallic treatment matching the shade to the colour of their shoes.

LFW Backstage Beauty: Osman
The faux-bob was back at Osman. Slicked up sides and a quiffed front led to tucked up ends turned under on themselves. Lisa Eldridge created a beautiful base using contours and highlights before adding MAC Metal X in Cyber and Vintage Coin to the lid and socket, smudging it underneath the create a soft, smoky look and finished with gloss on top working Blacktrack fluidline into the roots of lashes and the waterline for a grungy finish. Balm was added to lips and burgundy Kohl smudged over the top for a just bitten stain finished with a matte mixing medium.

The Pastel Tan made an another appearance here blending Silver and Blue illuminators to highlight and brighten skin, covering it with a beautiful radiance. The look was that of a lady in love so Marc Trinder created a low, messy ponytail that swings with happiness as she walks and Andrew Gallimore painting her bottom lip in MAC Scarlett Abyss lipstick and pressing them together for a just kissed, rose petal finish. Lashes were prettified with a little mascara and Hot and Saucy Tendertone was patted onto cheeks with the pads of the hand for a romantic flush.

LFW Backstage Beauty: Pringle
Matthias Van Hooff created a 60s inspired look over at Pringle taking the classic Twiggy eye and turning it upside down. He painted a line of LOreal Paris Colour Infalliable in Blue Curacao on the outside of the eye and teamed it with a minky lip colour using Blueberry Crystal Lipstick. True Match blush was in 125 was swept across the cheek bones and temples and Lash Architect was swiped across lashes for definition. Hair was kept chic and cool with a loose pony pulled to the side and tucked into jackets.

LFW Backstage Beauty: Mary Katrantzou
Marys flower children stole the show at the first stop of the day. Sam McKnight created a very simple, childlike low pony on freshly blown out hair using no brushes, pulling hair together with his hands. He left pieces out at the front (do it after and the whole style will be ruined) which were lightly misted with flexible hold hairspray to create a veil which flowed as they walked.

Val Garland kept skin fresh, beautiful and clean using minimal amounts of MAC Face and Body Foundation and Cream Colour Base in Lunar and Pearl shades to highlight. Val painted the lips white first and then painted MAC pigments directly over the top in 10 varying shades of chrome (Aire-de-Blu, Acid Orange, Electric Coral, Chartreuse, Teal, Old Gold, Rose and Violet) for a colour pop play on metallics.

LFW Backstage Beauty: Mark Fast
Sharon Dowsett then created the most beautiful earthy, sunbaked make up look using Maybelline copper bronze eye shadow washed across the eye with a flash of gold in the middle of the lid rimmed with black Kohl and lashings of The Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara. Skin was given a velvety, dusty feel with Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation in the darkest colour used as a bronzer.

James Pecis created the most divine faux Flapper style bob by saturating hair with TIGI Work It Hairspray and setting it on hot rods in a figure of eight(he bought from a hardware shop you can buy sponge versions from Boots!) and sealing with straighteners. When cooled he unwound them and used his fingers to break the hair up before binding the ends of the hair with an elastic and tucking them under to create the faux-bob. (He had planned to use gold leaf on the crown but after seeing the Topshop show the day before decided against it!)

LFW Backstage Beauty: Mulberry
Sam McKnight gave the hair a really dry texture teamed with some 60s height by blowdrying Frederik Fekkai Lifting Texture Spray and Frederik Fekkai Marine Surf Spray into hair before tonging, back-combing and brushed out. An ice-cream coloured hairpiece was added into each girls style. Nails were painted in Rose Dust by Mavala, a soft pastel nude.

LFW Backstage Beauty: Mulberry
Picture if you will an English rose walking along Brighton Pier when suddenly a wave washes over her, she sits on the beach to dry off for a few hours leaving her looking sun-kissed, shiny and dewy and this is what you got at Mulberry. Three layers of LOreal Paris Lash Architect 4D was applied to lashes for a really clumpy, spidery finish pushed right up into the roots using a flat brush for extra depth. Vaseline was applied to the lid for greasy feel and a LOreal blush in Deep Raspberry was applied to the middle of the cheeks, under the brow and over the bridge of the nose as if she was softly sun-kissed. Finally a raspberry stain was applied to the lips and True Match powder was used to set the make up under the eye, the eyelid and on the chin.

LFW Backstage Beauty: Holly Fulton
Jenny Longworth took inspiration from the underwater theme of the collection creating three different nail looks: an iridescent blue manicure to represent the sea, a zebra print and my favourite, a coral manicure with shell detail on the ring finger. Jenny sprinkled crushed sea-shells onto the ring finger (she bought them from Ebay but you could collect and crush your own) and sealed with a topcoat. Andrew Gallimore described this girl as Margate gone to Vegas a little bit seaside trashy! The make up had a worn in feel from the night before and MAC Metal X in Gold Carbon was painted along the top and bottom lash line then smudged in by the models using their fingers. He washed a grungy grey/purple shadow over called Wisteria and painted clear gloss over the top so it all melted together topped off with three layers of mascara for a clogged, crumbly effect. Skin was kept sheer and radiant with just a touch of MAC Face and Body Foundation. Lip were left freshly nude with a slick of Peach Stock lipstick.

Ditch your super-dark tan, next summer is all about super-polished skin. Tanning expert Nichola Joss revealed the Pastel Tan which is set to be the biggest tan trend for SS12 you heard it here first! She mixed St Tropez Rose Illuminator with Silver Rose Illuminator (created especially for this show) and buffed it down legs, arms and over the décolletage to amp up the illumination and ensure the light really bounced off the skin. Adam Reed got arty over at the hair station spray painting Goody barettes (the same ones used over in NY at Victoria Beckham and Marc by Marc Jacobs) to match the heels of the shoes. After straightening the hair he secured a barette one barette just under the crown and another at the nape spraying a little dry shampoo into the roots to soften the severity of a pulled back look.

MAC Cream Blush in Optimistic Orange and Sculpting Cream in Sandstone were buffed onto the centre of the cheek for warmth and dabbing Cream Colour Base in Pearl onto the cheekbones to highlight. A chalky, matte coral eye shadow was washed over the eyes and along the lower rim finished by a slick of brown mascara and lips were given a sheer gloss in Tendertone in Hot and Spicy (not launching until next year), polished eyebrows. Sam McKnight created heavily side-parted low side ponies and Marian Newman gave girls nails an expensive looking coat of high shine gloss.

Sharon Dowsett created a summer cashmere look using minky taupe tones on the eyes and lips sealed with gloss (Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe launching next year) The Dream Matte Mousse Foundation in the darkest colour was again used as a bronzer for a dusty, velvety texture finished with a slick of black mascara. David Barton custom blended a minky nail colour (1/2 bottle of Taupe Couture, ¼ bottle of Cloudy Grey and a few drops of Grey Couture) applying it to fingers and toes for a clean, chic look finishing with a hi-gloss topcoat. Finally, Malcolm Edwards created a 90s Helmut Lang inspired look, his favourite look ever for Amanda Wakeley by sectioning hair at the ears and splitting into two ponies. Taking a long piece of black jersey (DIY it with old tights) he wrapped around the head taking it down and binding the bottom pony before binding the top and twisting the two ponies together pinning it up and under.

Luke Hersheson gave the girls a chic double looped do inspired by 90s urban street boy undercuts, the kind that used to bully me at school by creating two ponies and folding them back underneath themselves then slicking the sides of the hair down with LOreal Professional Gloss Control. Makeup was kept young and fresh by mixing foundation with moisturiser for a dewy finish (no powder needed) and blending MAC Cream Colour Base in Beige Root and Midtone Sepia over the lids. MAC Mixing Medium was dabbed onto the tops of cheekbones for extra shine and a dewy finish. Brows were brushed up and again, mascara was discarded.
