Finding a truly exceptional exfoliator can feel a bit like Goldilocks' quest for the perfect bowl of porridge...

 

Physical exfoliators can often feel like you're washing your face with rocks (ok, we exaggerate, but still...) chemical ones can often feel too harsh, others seem totally ineffectual and many can be irritating especially to those with sensitive skin.

 

So that's why I was very excited - and just a little apprehensive -  to road test Ginvera's aptly named Marvel Gel with Green Tea with all its promises of radiant, glowing skin.

 

The claim

The gel is packed with anti-oxidant ingredients including green and white tea extracts, ginseng and aloe vera and has some pretty impressive claims. Namely that exfoliating with Marvel Gel softens the skin's deeper layers, stimulates skin metabolism and has an antioxidant and instant brightening effect on the complexion. It is also said to have lots of anti-ageing benefits and deal blocked pores and blackheads a killer blow.

 

How to use

Spread the gel over a dry face and rub gently for approximately 1 minute or until the gel dries up, you will start to see a powdery white residue accumulate on your face (your dead skin cells, ick!). Rinse off with plenty of water.

 

The results

I followed the instructions to a tee - smoothed on a thin layer of the clear and totally smooth gel and sure enough, after about 20-30 seconds of rubbing I started to feel the famous ‘powdery residue', like little chalky bits. I rinsed the gel off thoroughly after a minute and gosh did my skin feel soft. I've played about with plenty of exfoliators in the past and was currently using one I thought would be hard to top - but the Marvel Gel did it!

My complexion definitely looks brighter and more balanced - it's lost that dull-city-skin-in-winter look and feels calmed and soothed too - must be the aloe vera.

 

They do say you can use this product everyday, and it was certainly gentle to use, though I'd think 2-3 times a week would be sufficient to maintain that radiant glow.
