Start by loosely parting your hair to the side. On the heavier side, wind in a roller from the ends to the root and secure - we love these
Tresemme hot rollers. With the rest of the hair, pull back into a slack, low-ish pony and loosely swirl the length into an oversized bun and pin. Release the roller in the front and tousle. Don’t worry if shorter layers fall free or if a swift breeze results in a slightly flawed finish. That’s the reason we love this up do – it’s not supposed to be perfect!

As many of the season’s hair trends are largely for those with mid to long locks (apart from the ponytail if it’s just about long enough to scrape back), here’s a style for those of you with shorter hair....the quiff. Seen at its very best at Dolce & Gabbana, this quiff is to be worn full of androgyny and devil may care attitude. Toned down a bit at Narciso Rodriguez and Missoni the quiff was still evident, accompanied by a ponytail (obviously) or more romantic chignon.

The key to the quiff is volume! For maximum impact separate the whole front section from the forehead to the crown. Add a generous dose of
Kerastase Volume Active Mousse to this section and rough dry it with a hairdryer. Take a fine tooth comb (get yours at
Boots) and backcomb throughout this section. Once you are happy with the height of the quiff, smooth over the top section with a hairbrush. To finish the look, slick back the rest of the hair into a bun, ponytail or chignon.
