Celebrity hair colour; it\'s an ever-changing subject, especially as half of Hollywood seems to have a hair dye habit these days.

There\'s a long line of celebrities who\'ve ditched their archetypal blonde locks in favour of the more mysterious allure of a brunette ‘do. And then there\'s that long line of celebrities who\'ve quickly reached for the bottle (hair dye, that is) and gone straight back to the safer ground of blonde again.  So we\'re putting celebrity hair colour to the vote in our gallery of stars who\'ve sported both blonde and brunette tresses. Star of Greys Anatomy and 27 Dresses, Katherine Heigl, has braved going brunette despite there having been a few Monroe comparisons in her blonde past. She\'s plenty pretty enough to carry it off but should she have stuck to the blonde?

Posh\'s locks have been the subject of many a headline. First we had the hair extensions (not good) then she rolled out the bonafide blonde WAG ‘do (bit brassy?) which is why we were thrilled when VB re-invented her hairstyle yet again with this gamine brunette crop - and we think, for now at least -  the look might have stuck.

Fergie, she of the Black Eyed Peas and hot husband, has recently shunned her sunny, California-girl blonde locks in favour of far darker tresses. Is she trying to cultivate an air of mystery? Does she want us to take her more seriously? Has no-one told her that Jordan and Chantelle Houghton have also ditched the platinum in favour of going brunette?

So many questions, but only one that really matters; do you like it?

We thought Britney would be blonde forever - but out came the hair dye and a new celebrity brunette was born. Though which gets your vote, should Britters stick to her signature blonde locks or does the brunette have a certain allure?

Well - anything\'s got to be a step up from the pink, right? Kelly Osbourne\'s a dye-hard (very, very sorry)  hair colour chameleon and putting aside the pinks, reds and other, more vibrant colour choices, is it the platinum blonde bob or deep brown crop that you\'d like to see live on?

Cameron Diaz

The archetypal sunny, LA blonde traded in her surfer-girl, sun-kissed tresses for an altogether more mysterious shade when she stepped out sporting a rich brunette hue.

We actually think she looks pretty gorgeous both ways - as a blonde, obviously - and as a brunette the blue eyes make a striking contrast with the deep brown. But then again, it is Cameron Diaz we\'re talking about here.

Nicole\'s dirty blonde ‘do suits her boho-esque sartorial style though she too ditched the California blonde locks for a sultry brunette hair colour at one point. It wasn\'t long before she was hitting the bleach bottle again - though should she have kicked the habit and remained in the brown hair brigade?

Pixie Geldof

Pixie is certainly the bolder Geldof sibling when it comes to visiting the hairdresser. Like her eclectic fashion choices, hair colour is something to be experimented with whether it\'s her platinum blonde crop or dark brunette ‘do. Which one would you stick with?
