Love her or hate her, you can’t ignore Victoria Beckham. She who brought us the Pob, the pout, and perfected walking in ridiculously high heels. She was the Spice Girl who put the laydee into Girl Power and nabbed Britain’s most eligible bachelor in the process. Even today, she is the celebrity success story we can’t stop watching. "VB has totally reinvented herself as a credible fashion icon, with her own signature look, here and across the Atlantic," says panellist Shannon Watts.
When five loud, excitable girls: Sporty, Scary, Baby, Ginger and Posh, burst on to the scene in 1996 in a flurry of zig-a-zig-ahs, we sat up and listened. At a time when boy bands ruled the airwaves and dominated our bedroom walls, we needed something different.
During the late 90s, these five girls changed the music scene forever. They remain Britain’s most successful girl band, paving the way for the likes of All Saints, Sugababes and Girls Aloud.
