Festival season is upon us, and we\'ve been hitting the fests in our amazing Company Trend Tent we created with FieldCandy! This week\'s DIY design is based on the pretty mint and pink paisley design we created for our tent. Outside of the festival field, Paisley print has also been a catwalk it-print for SS12 - as seen at Stella McCartney and Jil Sander!

We started with a minty coloured base colour (Pool Party by Topshop, £5) to match our Company Trend Tent!

The basic Paisley shape is made up of a twisted teardrop shape, a smaller one inside (which we filled with little dots) and a scallop edge around the outside.

Start drawing the print onto the nail. It helps to draw the outer teardrop first, then do the inner one and spots. Our holy grail nail pen for this is Topshop\'s (\'Barbarella\', £6.50) - the nib is like a real pen so you can draw little details really easily! No other pen worked as well for this design!

Complete the print by adding the scallop edges and a \'tail\'. Depending on the size you want your print (ours was quite large), you can generally fit one Paisley \'teardrop\' per nail, and a few parts of the shape on the edge of each nail, like in this picture.

As we always say, a slick of topcoat is crucial with nail art to smooth out any lumps and bumps and help it last as long as poss!
