'I love my Goldtoes - now I want Goldfingers!'

Lady Gaga wore them in her Just Dance video and Fergie, Pink, Rihanna and Beyonce are all fans. Today I too was 'Minxed' and I'll never have a 'normal' pedicure again. Let me explain. . . Completely new to the UK, the Minix Mani or Pedi uses a unique sticky flexible film instead of polish to give your nails a high shine non-chip, semi-permanent covering.

First you have a full pedicure, massage and foot mask to get rid of the nasty dead skin (top tip: invest in a Ped Egg from JML £9.99 - www.jmldirect.com) and prepare the toes. Then the Minx film is heated under a special lamp to activate the glue that sticks it to your nails. It's a bit like putting a transfer on so you need a highly skilled therapist to make sure there are no air bubbles or wonky bits. I was lucky enough to get mine done by the brilliant celebrity nail technician, David Barton, who works with Marian Newman (www.mariannewmannails.com) and is one of the first to introduce Minx to the UK.

After the film has been heated, stuck down and cut to size that's IT. There's no waiting for them to dry time or worse still smudges or chips as soon as you put your shoes on. The whole thing took less than an hour and the pedicure lasts up to a month. Mine is so bling-tastic (in fact it looks like my toenails are coated in 24 carat gold) that the whole office is raving about them. The bright summery shades available include electric blue, silver, red and gold as well as cool graphic two-tone designs. They can even be customized to match the pattern or colour of your dress. Now I can't wait to get my fingernails Minxed too!
