As I was jetting off to the Caribbean on a cheeky post-Christmas holiday I thought I should get beach body ready in order to get into that bikini which always needs a bit of a body confident boost. Of course my destination was the same in every girls case being the nearest spa. In my case this was Gina Conway Aveda in Fulham. Once I had looked at the available treatments on offer at Gina Conway the ‘Caribbean Indulgence Wrap’ was the obvious choice to get me in the holiday mood.
On arrival at Gina’s I was offered the Aveda tea and met by my beauty therapist Mary who explained about the ‘Caribbean Indulgence Wrap’ which uses refreshing mango and lime from the islands and claims to restore your body as well as renewing your mind. She then described in more detail each different stages of the treatment so that I could enjoy every moment relaxing whilst enjoying the best of the Caribbean.
Walking into the room where I was going to spend the next couple of hours being completely relaxed from the stresses of London life I was welcomed with gentle candle light and soothing music. My treatment started with a dry exfoliation from head to toe with my body then being wrapped in a rum, ginger and seaweed masque with warm fluffy towels. Whilst in my fluffy cocoon my face and scalp was massaged with calming floral water which de-stressed and completely relaxed my mind. I was then directed to the shower where a Caribbean wash was used to reveal gorgeous smooth skin which I didn’t realise I have ever had. Once dry the treatment continued with a head to toe body massage with Caribbean cream to release any remaining knots hidden in my body. Once finished I was asked to remain in the room to relax whilst being advised to drink loads of water to replenish me and allowed me to continue enjoying the last moments of my treatment.
