Witch dual purpose concealer, £4.99

This concealer stick blended in perfectly with my skin tone and I could smell the witch hazel and tea tree as I was applying it so I knew it had t be doing some good. My spot definitely disappeared quicker when I used this and the redness seemed to die down as well. 9/10

Clearasil Ultra - rapid action spot cream, £5.99

Trust good old Clearasil to bring the goods, this rapid action treatment cream works by getting to the root cause of the blemish, whilst exfoliating and soothing the area, giving you visibly clearer skin in only 3 days.

Kiehls Blue Herbal Spot Treatment, £13.50

Thankfully, this spot treatment doesn\'t live up to its name with the blue part, but it does with everything else. The clear gel doesn\'t sting or overdry, but managed to reduce redness and swelling on the angry outbreak across my cheek overnight, with a significant improvement on day two of use. Gentle, yet effective. 8.5/10

Containing plant and flower extracts, this is a blemish treatment you can trust.  You feel as though this ointment is really healing the skin with its cooling qualities and cleansing solution.  Spot today, gone tomorrow. Aveda Outer Peace Blemish Relief Lotion. 8/10

Boots Expert Anti Blemish Serum, £4.99

This product is the lazy girls skin routine and we loved it! This nifty handbag sized product is perfect for a bit of skin refreshment. Applying to clean skin by simply massaging in, there is no mess and no fuss. It leaves skin feeling fresh and clean, with visible improvements. Especially perfect for weekends away as it\'s super compact with no splashing required! 8/10

Philosophy On a Clear Day Blemish Serum,£28

On a clear day is a heavy duty blemish banisher.  It\'s a serum made from salicylic/ glycolic, which you should apply up to twice daily, either on problem areas, or all over.  Although my skin isn\'t sensitive, I only managed to apply the serum once a day; because it stung when I put it on. It smelt great, although it was a little messy to handle.  However, my blemishes weren\'t as noticeable after two days, and I was really pleased with the results. 9/10

L\'Oreal Pure Zone Anti-Regreasing Moisturiser

This all over moistuirser should be used twice a day and contains salicylic acid to eat up the excess oil and dirt from your skin that clogs pores and causes nasty black heads and blemishes. My skin felt very taut and firm after I\'d used this and prevented a potential breakout. 7.5/ 10

Clarins Stop Imperfections Blemish Control, £14.50

I loved that this spot buster came in a pack of two, one for my handbag and one for the bathroom shelf, genius! This liquid treatment smelt great and it didn\'t dry out my skin like a lot of other spot treatments. I noticed a difference in my problem areas within two days and my skin definitely looks better for using it. 8/10

Murad Moisturising Blemish Treatment Gel, £28.50

This works really well to calm spots down - within an hour a huge and very sore spot had been tamed and made manageable with makeup! The moisturiser goes on quickly and easily but has a medicinal smell to it - but I suppose this is to be expected! I will definitely continue to use this and hopefully over the long-term it will reduce the number of breakouts. 9/10

Benefit Boo Boo Zap!, £13.50

Whilst Boo Boo Zap definitely dried the area around my spot (perhaps a little too much), it seemed a little too harsh for sensitive skin like mine and didn\'t calm the redness of my spot. Definitely one for more oilier, congested skin. 6/10
