Company\'s Beauty Assistant Sam Flowers had the pleasure of chatting to Ruby Hammer, uber make-up artist and all round lovely lady.

HOW TO GET A LONG LASTING BASE
\r\n\r\n
- Use a primer underneath your moisturiser - try Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, gently blotting afterwards with a tissue before applying make-up.
\r\n\r\n
- Use a foundation brush or cosmetic wedge to apply your base. Make sure it is well blended around all the nooks and crannies i.e. nose, jawline and chin, hair line etc to ensure that it looks flawless rather than mask-like
\r\n\r\n
- Set with a translucent powder to give a polished & matt complexion.

- Make sure that you use an eye gel or cream on a regular basis. We like Darphin Dark Circles Relief and De-puffing Eye Serum, £38 to brighten the eye area when we\'ve been burning the candle at both ends.

- Apply a concealer using a light tapping motion. People make the mistake of picking a pinky colour. To hide dark circles choose one with a more peachy tone. I recommend Laura Mercier\'s Secret Concealer or Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener, £22 instantly erases dark circles.

- Set with a translucent powder for added staying power.

- Don\'t stick to black - coppers and bronzes look great in the summer.
\r\n\r\n
- Don\'t just pile the eyeshadow on, build it up gradually - the colour needs to graduate from light to dark. We like Maybelline Eye Shadow Diamond Glow Eyeshadow Quad in Bronze Drama, £6.99
\r\n\r\n
- Apply a light colour over the whole lid up to the brow bone. Take a mid-colour and apply it over the lid. Use a dark eye pencil and run it along the inner and upper rims of the eyes. Smudge with a cotton bud taking it low underneath the eye for a sexy, sultry look. Taking the darkest shadow and a small brush line around the eyeliner on the outer 1/3 of the eye (don\'t take this the whole way along or you\'ll be in danger of looking like you\'ve been in a punch up!)

- Blend along the crease of the eye upwards and outwards to open up the eye.
\r\n\r\n
- Curl lashes and finish with a coat of black mascara.
