Company meets Taio Cruz

Taio Cruz is one of the hottest new singers around and his producing has been praised by Simon Cowell. He's worked with Leona Lewis, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, JLS, and many more. We grabbed a few minutes with the sexy pop star before his performance of ‘Break Your Heart' to celebrate the arrival of Facebook, Twitter, last.fm and Zune to the Xbox 360.

 

 

 

You're here for the Xbox Live launch, are you as addicted to Twitter as we are at Company?

I'm definitely on Twitter a lot and I'm a big fan of it. I'm trying not to go crazy and put too much of my life out there but it's a great way to be able to get feedback from fans.

 

Which celebs do you like to follow?

At the moment I just follow my friends - like JLS, Saturdays, Pixie, and Tinchy Stryder. But I've also been twittering a bit about the Xfactor!

 

Xfactor! That's our favourite topic in the office at the moment! Are you a fan of this year's show?

This series like all the others is great. But like everyone else I'm comparing the line-up to Leona's year. She's the biggest thing to come out of the show. I guess you could say I'm looking for the next Leona Lewis!

 

And is there the next Leona this year?

I love Stacy Solomon- she's got an amazing voice. And I really liked Lucie Jones - she could have been Britain's answer to Kelly Clarkson so don't think she should have gone. Daniel is also awesome.

 

 

 

So what advice do you have for any aspiring musicians out there?

Listen to as much pop music as possible. I always feel when I'm writing songs that I'm drawing inspiration from the music I've been listening to. If you only listen to hit songs, then the only thing you can make is hit music!

 

You've worked with an array of stars; do you have any other dream collaborations?

I'm really open to working with anyone - I want to expand the scope of my music and not work just in one genre so would love to do something with Kings of Leon, Coldplay or Take That!

 

It's been a busy year with the new album Rokstarr but what do you with your spare time?

I love playing video games, going to the cinema and listening to music. I really like the song ‘I've got a feeling' at the moment - the BlackEyedPeas are rocking it! I'm also hoping to fly south for a week and take a holiday in sunny Miami!

Taio Cruz's new album Rokstarr album was released on 12 October 2009
