When we popped down to The Charlotte Street Blues Bar we were blown away by what we saw. With his handsome looks and a killer band, Ben Montague had the room buzzing with energy that lasted all night.
Reminding us of a British John Mayer with guitar hooks of Maroon 5, he has already been described as one of the UKs brightest melodic rock talents', and you know what? We absolutely loved it.
Our favourites on the night were his debut single, the euphoric Can't Hold Me Down and new single Haunted, which both stayed with us long after the gig. And after his set on the main stage, he even went on to perform an intimate acoustic set downstairs, which included an amazing cover versions of Gnarls Barclay's 'Crazy' and had the whole room singing along with him.
A few years back Ben sold his guitar to pay his rent but now his success is growing - from being invited by Eddie Jordan to perform in front of 18,000 people at Silverstone race track to entertaining thousands of international travellers during his residency at Heathrow's Terminal 5 and he'll be playing at Isle of Wight and Cornbury festivals so be sure to check him out...
