Having not seen them since festival season we jumped at the chance to go see Florence and the Machine perform this week. All the greats have played at the 100 Club, but it was a first for Florence who hit the stage for an XFM live session. Blending murder, mayhem, sweetness, and light into an exciting mix, Florence walked on stage looking effortlessly cool and nicely kooky in a striking sequined dress.
Here's her set list:
Between two lungs
Kiss with a fist
Howl
Drumming Song
I'm not calling you a liar
Dog Days
Cosmic Love
You've got the Love
In a small venue they were better than ever - Florence's amazing voice bellowed off the walls and the beats (brought by a very fit drummer who seemed to have a lot of female groupies) kept the crowd jumping! Howl was definitely our favourite, where Florence was really able to show that amazing bluesy voice.
Daisy Lowe - another cool lady - was spied in the crowd and seemed to be enjoying it as much as we were. By the last track the crowd got the love' for Florence and everyone mobbed the stage. Daisy later twittered that it was the best moment of her life and it was definitely up there for us too!
Having already bagged a Brit and making one of the loveliest albums of the year - we predict massive stardom for this fiery haired lady for 2010!
