Cher & Cheryl drum up X Factor support

As the X Factor competition hots up ahead of the weekend's final, all of the contestants have been heading home to do a spot of canvassing and drum up local support.

Of course, this means double the amount of work for Cheryl Cole, the only mentor left with two contestants in her group; she took Rebecca Ferguson to Liverpool earlier this week, it was Cher Lloyd's turn yesterday and the pair hit Malvern, Worcestershire.

While the 17-year-old has experience a bit of a backlash in recent weeks, with even the show's choreographer Brian Friedman confession that she has a "mild chip on her shoulder", she's at least got the love of her hometown; in fact, extra space had to be cleared at a local gig which was arranged to coincide with her homecoming after 900 tickets got snapped up in just 20 minutes, with 500 extra seats being make available later in the day.

We're not sure if it's enough to win her the competition though - Cher's the favourite to leave the show first. Matt Cardle is odds on to win, with One Direction not far behind… But anything can happen in four days!
