'Cougar Town' actor Josh Hopkins has responded to rumours that he dated and then rejected Jennifer Aniston when she co-starred in the comedy series, and has branded them both "hurtful" and "weird".
Jen, 41, and Josh, 40, were reported to have become an item after they were reportedly set up by 'Cougar Town' star Courteney Cox and later spotted enjoying dinner together last month.
Speaking to Parade, Josh reflected: "That was really, really weird and hurtful, I've been working in this business for a long time, and it's the first time I've ever found myself caught up in the middle of tabloid journalism."
When the pair were romantically linked, Josh had said: "There are worse people to be in a rumour with." But when it was alleged he dumped the 'Marley & Me' actress because she wanted to take their relationship further, he took offence.
Reports also suggested that he referred to Jen as his "sport f**k" and their relationship as "friends with benefits", while she was accused of falling for "good-looking a**holes".
He added: "It just felt dirty and invasive. It gave me so much empathy for real celebrities, people that have lived with this frenzied scrutiny for their entire life."
And on his potential perfect match, he said: "I look for sense of humour, and by that I just mean a girl that would laugh at my jokes. And I don't like real clingy. I like some independence, and I like them to have some independence, too."
That sounds just like Jen to us...
