An Education set for multiple BAFTAs?

An Education set for multiple BAFTAs?
An Education has landed an impressive 17 nomination for the 2010 BAFTAs
Now we've got the People's Choice awards out of the way, it's serious business in the film world, with the most prestigious ceremonies announcing their nominations - and it looks like the cast and crew of An Education could be set to win big.
The film edged out Inglourious Basterds, The Hurt Locker, Avatar and The Lovely Bones as the most-nominated film when the BAFTA panel's long-list of picks was announced this morning, with 17 nods, including a Best Actress one for Shia LaBeouf's current squeeze Carey Mulligan, pictured alongside her co-stars Dominic Cooper and Emma Thompson.
Quentin Tarantino's Basterds landed 15 nominations and Kathryn Bigelow's The Hurt Locker got 12, while David Bowie's son Duncan Jones was also recognised for his 2009 film Moon, which had 10 mentions.
The shortlist will be reduced to five nominations in each field and announced on 21 January, but we wouldn't be surprised if Carey was still up there. Hopefully Brad will make an appearance at the ceremony too since Inglourious Basterds has done so well. We love a Brangelina sighting in London.
