Ashley Cole's mother intervenes
Ashley Cole's mother Sue acts the 'go-between' and reportedly begs Cheryl to calm down and speak to Ashley over fears for his state of mind
Ashley Cole's mother Sue has attempted to get Cheryl and Ashley talking again by acting as the "go-bewteen" along with her other son Matthew, over fears for Ashley's "state of mind".
According to reports, Sue has pleaded with Cheryl to get in touch with footballer Ashley, after the singer announced their separation on Tuesday.
But apparently the 26-year-old former Girls Aloud star is too furious to respond following recent claims that Ashley had blamed his mother-in-law for ultimately ending their marriage of three-and-a-half-years.
A source is reported by the MailOnline as saying: "Sue is acting as a go-between and trying to calm the waters. She has been speaking to Cheryl about trying to see both sides of the situation, but Cheryl is furious that Ashley is totally unrepentant and has refused to apologise or see it as his fault and take the blame.
"Ashley never sees things as his fault and he feels Cheryl has neglected him. Sue Cole is desperately worried about Ashley’s state of mind and feels he is struggling to stay calm. Sue has asked Cheryl to calm down and talk to Ashley and be there for him while he struggles to get well again in time for the World Cup. Cheryl is feeling calmer. She’s at least listening to Sue and Matthew."
It was reported earlier today that Cheryl's weight had plummeted since news of Cole's infidelity broke, with claims that the already tiny star is surviving on peppermint tea alone.
Meanwhile, Cole is currently undergoing intensive therapy for a broken ankle at a sports clinic in France.
This all sounds like the last thing Cheryl needs at the moment...
