Chris Brown may find himself even more unpopular than usual after releasing a statement criticising Rihanna's decision to speak on a US show about his attack on her.
Rihanna, 21, appeared on ABC's 'Good Morning America' to talk for the first time about Brown's assault and describe in detail the moment it took place.
The singer bravely told Diane Sawyer last week: "It wasn't the same person that says I love you. It was not those ... eyes. He [Brown] had no soul in his eyes. Just blank... He was clearly blacked out. There was no person when I looked at him."
But former boyfriend Brown has released the following statement in response: "While I respect Rihanna's right to discuss the specific events of February 8, I maintain my position that all of the details should remain a private matter between us."
The 20-year-old R&B singer has been apologising frequently and speaking publicly about the attack, which took place back in February, and even appeared on 'Larry King Live' in September to reveal his remorse and ask for forgiveness from fans.
He even spoke to MTV to last week to blame his actions on "anger".
Rihanna, on the other hand, has kept a dignified silence up until now and admitted that she only appeared on the popular US show so she could finally "move on" from the ordeal.
But Brown added: "I do appreciate [Rihanna's] support and wish her the best. I am extremely sorry for what I did, and I accept accountability for my actions. Abuse of any kind is always wrong. The rest I leave it to God."
