Cate fine after injury
Cate Blanchett escapes serious injury during theatre stunt
She's quite the acting pro, but even Cate Blanchett isn't immune from occupational injuries - the actress is said to have been injured during a fight scene in a performance of A Street Car Named Desire in Sydney.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the actress, who is playing Blanche DuBois, began bleeding from the head after she was hit by a prop, leading to the show being cancelled.
An onlooker claims that co-star Joel Edgerton, acting as Stanley Kowalski, accidentally struck Blanchett with a radio.
She said:
"He was supposed to throw [the radio] out the window, but it sort of slipped and hit her in the head… she was so good, she just went straight on."
The witness reported that Cate was the first to make an exit. "They just kind of went, 'Joel can you leave the stage please'," she said.
A spokesperson has since said:
"Cate's just fine."
Phew - Cate has much more than just a face for radio. Sorry. Get well soon!
