'Lost Boys' actor Corey Haim has passed away aged 38 after a suspected drug overdose. A spokesperson has confirmed that the tragic star was declared dead in the early hours of Wednesday morning at Providence St Joseph Medical Centre. No other details surrounding his passing have been released but autopsy is set to take place to determine the cause of death.
The Canadian-born actor found fame in the 80s when he starred alongside Winona Ryder and Charlie Sheen in 'Lucas' and then a year later in iconic cult vampire flick, 'The Lost Boys'.
It's suspected that the star died of an overdose of prescription pills after battling openly with his addiction to drugs. The 80s heartthrob admitted that he had been in and out of rehab 15 times, but was finally clean by 2004 when he moved back to Toronto.
On his addictions he had said: "I started on the downers which were a hell of a lot better than the uppers because I was a nervous wreck. But one led to two, two led to four, four led to eight, until at the end it was about 85 a day - the doctors could not believe I was taking that much. And that was just the Valium - I'm not talking about the other pills I went through."
Haim also briefly dated Victoria Beckham back in 1995, and claimed the former Spice Girl was a terrible kisser. She had responded recently to say: "We didnt have sex or anything. In actual fact, he didnt seem to want to try. The most we did was kiss."
Haim had tried to revive his career by appearing with Corey Feldmen in reality TV show, 'The Two Coreys', but it was cancelled in 2008 after two series.
Rest in peace, Corey Haim
