David Arquette has continued to be extremely public with the details of his split with wife of 11 years, Courteney Cox.
The 39-year-old star has now revealed in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that he thought the former Friends actress had been cheating on him.
Speaking for the first time since he left rehab last month, Arquette told the chat show hostess that for their 11th wedding anniversary, the 46-year-old Cougar Town star gave him a motorcycle and said: "I don't want to be your mother anymore."
Arquette told Oprah:
"She came down really depressed one day, and was like 'I'm really just not happy. I felt really sort of abandoned at that point. A deal is a deal [engraved on their wedding bands after their 1999 wedding]."
He added:
"I was angry with...the dynamic of our relationship. I was angry with my wife. Further angering him: "There were tabloid stories coming out about her and someone on her show having, you know, an affair."
Arquette then admitted he thought she had been unfaithful, continuing:
"I thought she was having an affair with someone. Nobody would've said something like that if she weren't."
The actor knows now that the stories weren't true, although the star had been linked to Cougar Town co-star Brian Van Holt on several occasions.
And on whether they could reconcile, he added:
"I love Courteney. I don't know right now. I want us to be the best people we can be, and then if it's together--I want her to be happy, and if me even being the best person I can be doesn't make her happy in a partner--like, who she needs, whatever she's looking for--that's still to be answered.
"I know that I'll be with her for my whole life. And we have an amazing family together and we're really great parents together."
We really hope they get back together!
