Speculation as to why Courteney Cox and husband David Arquette announced their split after 11 years together have been rife, and now sources from across the pond are claiming it was because Courteney fell in love with her 'Cougar Town' co-star Brian Van Holt.
And although David Arquette has already spoken about Courteney's "emotional affair" with Brian after he called up US DJ Howard Stern live on air, sources on Radar Online claim the 46-year-old actress had actually fallen head over heels with the 41-year-old actor.
The source said: “Courteney doesn’t believe she was cheating on David because they had been leading separate lives for some time. But she is smitten and in love with this man, almost besotted… he seems to be providing something that David didn’t during the marriage.
"They’ve been secretly dating for some time, and now the split with David is official, time will tell if the relationship may well get even more serious."
During 39-year-old David's conversation with Stern on Tuesday, he also admitted to a fling with aspiring actress Jasmine Waltz after their separation, which he claimed made him feel "manly".
The couple confirmed their trial separation on Monday but insisted they are still the best friends and will keep matters amicable for the sake of their six-year-old daughter Coco.
