Dannii Minogue apologises for her comments about X Factor contestant Danyl Johnson's sexuality
Oops, foot in mouth... On Saturday night's show, fellow judge Dannii Minogue made a bit of a gaff which referred to Johnson's sexuality. However, but quick to avoid a backlash, she apologised on air last night.
She told host Dermot O'Leary:
"I'd like to apologise if I offended anyone. I was joking about it to Danyl before the show and it was not meant to offend anyone, so I apologise for that."
Meanwhile, Johnson's mentor Simon Cowell added:
"I can say on Dannii's behalf that she is the last person in the world who would do anything offensive. I spoke to Danyl afterwards and he took it in the spirit... it was fun.
"No offence was intended so I think we should get back to the show. It's over."
Indeed, but it can't have helped Dannii in the popularity stakes - Cheryl is now leagues ahead.
