Her new album Bionic is number one in the UK charts. And quite frankly, we're not surprised. Company had a sneaky listen to the album last month, just before interviewing Christina for Company's July issue. And we know we're not supposed to have favourites, but the brilliant hip-hop-meets-disco-funk of one particular album track, Woo Hoo, totally won us over.
When we told Christina this, during our exclusive interview, she was obviously chuffed.
"You love it?" she squealed. "Wow, I'm so pleased."
And how pleased we were to have the woman-of-the-moment (or should we say woman-of-the-decade?) gracing Company's July cover. She revealed all about how she juggles her career with making marriage work. And, more surprisingly, how she's partial to the odd girl-crush.
"Yes, sometimes I am attracted to women," she confessed to us. "I appreciate their femininity and beauty."
Chatting about the female artists who've followed in her stilettoed footsteps, we asked what she thought of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry et al, who we think Christina paved the way for.
"Well, as I said, I have been around for over a decade so the work speaks for itself and it's flattering if someone wants to take and be inspired by what I do and incorporate it into what they do," she tells us. "I'm not really a person who wants to take something away from somebody else, but yes, I AM back and I feel more confident than ever."
I think her millions of fans would agree with Company when we say, Gaga, watch out, Christina is back!
