Footballer Frank Lampard attacked radio presenter James O'Brien live on LBC this morning, after the DJ had a dig at him following his ex-girlfriend's accusations about recent behaviour. Spanish born Elen Rives, who has two young daughters with the Chelsea footballer, slammed the 30-year-old after a night out yesterday. The 34-year-old had said: "He is so heartless. He's moved on and is seeing other girls."I text him to tell him I'm not coping, but he doesn't care. I cry to him on the phone but I get nothing from him. No emotion, just blank. He's a b*****d.
"He's in our house which he has turned into a bachelor pad.
"And I'm in a small flat waiting for my own flat with our two daughters."
O'Brien criticised Lampard before the footballer called up to defend himself.
Lampard said: "Everything I do in my career in football terms, before I had kids it was all for myself and since Ive had kids, every penny I earn and every ounce and every yard I run on the football pitch is for my kids. Unfortunately Ive split up with my girlfriend so theyre now living in a temporary flat in Fulham, Chelsea, and it's not a bad flat at all.
"And I'm actually buying a house at the moment which is of equal living standard, if not more, to mine. My mother died a year ago today, which has been a huge impact on my life, my familys life and my sisters life
"And unfortunately thats had a huge impact on my relationship at home. I cant do anything about that.
"But I find it insulting that youre telling me you would fight tooth and nail for your kids, and insinuating that I wouldnt fight tooth and nail. Thats what Ive spent my time doing.
"The hardest part of this whole break up for me is not waking up with my kids every day."
Lampard also defended his former lover's comments by claiming a journalist had taken advantage of her while she was "drunk" and feeling "down" and claimed Elen now regrets her outburst.
Well done, Frank.
