Although Gossip Girl is mostly about the clothes (oh the clothes!), it's definitely the steamy plot-lines that have got people hooked - the show has certainly had its fair share of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. However, could there now be a backlash? According to People, the teen drama has upset watchdog group the Parents Television Council due an upcoming scene in an episode due to air in the US next week in which characters have a threesome.
Describing the scene "reckless and irresponsible," the group's president released a statement Wednesday asking affiliate stations not to air the episode:
"Will you now be complicit in establishing a precedent and expectation that teenagers should engage in behaviors heretofore associated primarily with adult films?"
However, the show's network CW has defended graphic content by saying that its primary audience is women between 18 and 34, which is older than the ages of the characters portrayed.
We'll skip out of this debate and just wonder who on earth the threesome could involve (almost certainly Chuck Bass)...
