Will our weekends ever be the same again without Jedward? Probably, but last night's viewing was still quite a shock.
When the twins found themselves alongside Olly Murs in the bottom two, they were called by the judges to perform a song of their choice to prove their worth. However, it looks like Boyzone's 'No Matter What' didn't help them in the end - all of the judges except mentor Louis Walsh decided to keep Olly, although Cheryl, Simon and Dannii still joined in to give the brothers a standing ovation as they departed.
The boys, pictured leaving the studio, then said:
"It's been the greatest experience of our life here. Every single weekend being on live TV and having the time of our lives. It's the coolest place to be in the world."
While Louis added:
"I've had the best time working with these boys. I feel young again and we've had an amazing time. I'm so glad I put them through and I'd like to thank the other judges for helping me."
At least they can still celebrate being at number one right now with the X Factor charity single.
