When Jermaine Jackson appeared on Celebrity Big Brother two years ago, he was an oasis of calm in a house filled with bickering and rancour and his loving spirit is shining through again today as she talks about his brother Michael's tragic death last week.
The star told a US chat show: "He went too soon - I don't know how people are going to take this, but I wish it was me."
Jermaine went on to say he was his brother's "backbone".
He added: "I wanted to be there for him. I was there and he was sort of like molded. Things he couldn't say, I would say them. During the trials, during everything..."
A huge, star-studded memorial will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Tuesday for the singer, with 750 million expected to watch on TV.
