It helps that the pair are currently co-starring in the aptly named upcoming release Playing the Field… Cast-mates always gets tongues wagging - just look at the stories Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis/Cameron Diaz faced during their time together on set!
Is it more than the rumour mill getting excited though? Well, Us Weekly reports that Jess was spotted "cozying up" to the Scot.
According to the mag, the pair are filming in Louisiana and were seen looking friendly at a crew member's birthday at a Japanese restaurant last week, with a source blabbing:
"When Gerry got there, he made a beeline for Jessica. He was really flirting with her."
It's also alleged the pair were seen necking margaritas at a Mexican restaurant in the same week - as well as enjoying a couple of other meals together.
However, the insider adds:
"She only wants to be friends."
