Jessica Simpson is very much a girl after our own heart. Not only has she refused to conform to the Hollywood trend of size zero, she's also admitted to being happily single and privately "mingling" with potential suitors in order to maintain a normal life.
The 29-year-old singer-actress-and-reality-TV star told chat show host Ellen DeGeneres: "I'm single, but I'm out mingling around. I mingle around very privately. I have ways in and out of my house and certain places that I go that are private just so I can have a normal life. I'm still out there and being normal."
And poor old Jessica hasn't had the smoothest of relationships in the past; she divorced Nick Lachey after three years of marriage, footballer Tony Romo reportedly dumped the star just before her 29th birthday and singer John Mayer went on to describe her as "sexual napalm" to Playboy magazine.
But that hasn't deterred Jessica away from men or high-profile relationships. When asked by Ellen if she would prefer to date someone who wasn't famous, she replied: "It doesn't really matter to me. They definitely have to understand my life and what I put up with and what I deal with. Being scrutinised publicly, they can definitely make or break a relationship, and you have to have that strong foundation so I have to have somebody that understands that kind of lifestyle."
Jessica even addressed those reports that she recently claimed she seldom brushes her teeth, and often cleans them with the sleeve of her jumper.
No wonder she's single!
On her oral hygiene, she explained: "Maybe three times a week. Because my teeth are so white and I don't like them to feel to slippery, but I do use Listerine and I do floss everyday. But I don't brush them everyday. I'll use a shirt or something.
"I know it's gross, but I always have fresh breath. It's really weird but I have great breath."
