Jude Law took over Heath Ledger's part in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus after the actor's tragic death last year, and now the Sherlock Holmes actor is helping his former cohort's legacy live on further by judging a scholarship competition set up in the Dark Knight star's name.
Newcomer Oliver Ackland was awarded last year's $10,000 'Australians in Film Heath Ledger Scholarship' and the new shortlist will be announced in February 2010 after Jude has checked out all of the contenders.
Speaking press, the Brit explained:
"I am delighted and honored to do what I can to keep Heath's legacy alive. He was a brilliant actor and a wonderful man and it is only fitting that this scholarship has been developed in his name."
Jude got to know Heath while dating Sienna Miller in 2005 when his girlfriend paired up with the Australian actor for film Casanova.
