We knew it would only be a matter of time before Katy Perry responded to Beth Ditto's critical comments about her hit single, 'I Kissed A Girl'. The Gossip singer claimed that the number one hit was "an anthem for straight girls who like faking gay" and branded it "tacky" and "hideous". Beth's band mate was less complimentary and claimed to "hate" the 24-year-old pop star. Knowing Katy's reputation for being rather opinionated and not one to shy away from celebrity feuds (remember when she said she was a a thinner version of Lily Allen?) so at the recent Glamour Awards she bit back. But surprisingly she took a more civil approach, saying: "I dont want to get into a slanging war with anybody so I dont want to say anything bad about her. But Im not impressed."
She added: "Ive learned in the past year that one artist should never insult another artists music its tacky. And with me, it always comes back to bite me on the ass."
So now that Katy has used the same insult back, we wonder what Beth will make of being called tacky too?
