Keisha Buchanan comforted by JLS as she reportedly breaks down after announcing her departure from the Sugababes
Keisha Buchanan had to be consoled by JLS at a fashion party last night after reportedly breaking down following her shock announcement that she is leaving the Sugababes. The 24-year-old founding member of one of Britain's biggest girl bands, set to be replaced by this year's Eurovision entry 21-year-old Jade Ewen, made the announcement on social networking site Twitter.
She had 'tweeted': "Although it was not my choice to leave [Sugababes], it's time to enter a new chapter in my life."
And it was claimed last night that Keisha, who will continue with Island Records to pursue a solo career, was comforted by JLS and former Destiny's Child star Michelle Williams at the Red Bull Fashion Factory party shortly after.
A source said: "Michelle was the first to share words of encouragement. But it all got too much for Keisha, who started to cry in the middle of the party and Oritse from JLS had to comfort her."
They added: "It was heartbreaking. She felt devastated about what happened and thinks everyone thinks she’s a b***h when she did everything she could to make it work between her and Heidi and Amelle."
We don't blame the poor girl and had we'd have been there, we'd have given Keisha a hug ourselves...
But she will no doubt be pleased to hear that other founding member of the group, Mutya Beuna, is on team Keisha, taking to Twitter herself to post: "It all started so innocently...a love for music and a dream...look what its become. RIP. I will say this publicly... shame on Heidi for not following Keisha out. But doesn't surprise me a bit."
Ouch. We wonder what Heidi will have to say about that...
