Dreams turned into a nightmare for Leona Lewis last night... The X Factor winner was signing copies of her new autobiography 'Dreams' at the Piccadilly branch of Waterstones yesterday when a guy who'd been queuing for hours to meet her suddenly attacked.
The Mirror reports that security guards immediately wrestled the culprit to the ground while he yelled: "I love you, Leona!"
An onlooker told the paper:
"Leona had a team of security people with her, so it wasnt as if she wasnt well protected. But it happened so quickly there was nothing they could do.
"He was smirking as he was restrained and said about his book, Ive paid for that. He didnt seem right in the head."
Police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and arrested the attacker, but the 24-year-old stunner was visibly shaken.
Another onlooker commented:
"Leona was crying and holding her face. You could see the fear in her eyes."
Although a doctor gave her the all clear, she cancelled an appearance on BBC1s The One Show last night, with her spokesperson saying:
"Leona is understandably shaken but she is absolutely gutted she did not get the signings finished."
We hope this hasn't put Leona off London - but we wouldn't blame her if she fled right back to LA.
