Leona's attacker 'X' reject

Leona's attacker 'X' reject
Leona Lewis's sectioned attacker auditioned for 'X Factor' and was reportedly jealous of her success
As Leona Lewis recovers from the shock attack in which she was punched in the face by a member of the public during her book signing, it's being claimed that the assailant was a former 'X Factor' reject.
The 24-year-old 'Bleeding Love' singer was struck as she signed copies of her new autobiography, 'Dreams', at Waterstone's in Piccadilly Circus on Wednesday afternoon.
The man has now been named as 29-year-old Peter Kowalczyk, who was said to have been jealous of Leona's success after she won the ITV1 talent show three years ago.
His father Tomaz has since come forward to explain that his son once applied to be on the 'X Factor' and has now been sectioned under the Mental Health Act, saying: "He wants to be a singer. He went along and queued at 'X Factor'. How far he got with it? Nowhere."
Kowalczyk queued up for five hours at the signing before hitting Leona in the face and being charged with assault before being taken to a psychiatric hospital where he was sectioned.
Meanwhile, as we reported yesterday afternoon, the star has now cancelled a promotional trip to Germany, with a source adding: "She is petrified it could happen again. They could have a knife or acid next time. She never really had personal security because she never dreamed anything like this would happen.
"Now she wants a 24-hour security team with plain-clothed guards hidden in the crowd when she goes shopping or out with friends."
We hope lovely Leona feels better soon...
