Simon Cowell contacts police after hackers reportedly leak Leona Lewis single on the internet
Simon Cowell has reportedly contacted the police as a new Leona Lewis song from her second album is leaked online.
It's believed that hackers have targeted his record company's computer to illegally place the collaboration with Justin Timberlake called 'Don't Let Me Down' on to the web.
Apparently file-sharing websites pay hackers an extraordinary amount of cash for stolen tracks which they then make available on their site to attract more downloaders and to make profit from advertisers.
And they hack into emails and company servers in an attempt to steal songs.
The music mogul and 'X Factor' judge is said to be livid upon discovering that the highly-anticipated song had been stolen, with a spokesperson from his music label Syco releasing the following statement: "Syco are working alongside the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, the British Phonographic Industry, the police and investigators in this and they are making fast progress.
"We will certainly look to bring charges against those who are responsible. We cannot give any more details at this stage for operational reasons."
We are looking forward to hearing Leona's single with Timberlake, legally of course!
