Nicole, 31, and Lewis, 25, have announced that they've parted ways so that both are able to spend 2010 fully focusing on their careers.
A statement from their spokesperson has since confirmed: "They have decided to go their separate ways. They want to focus fully on their careers and will remain close friends."
Lewis will attempt to win his Formula One crown back from Jenson Button this year, while Hawaiian-born star Nicole is planning a solo album and attempting to launch an acting career.
The cute couple first met at the MTV Europe Awards in Munich back in November 2007, and began dating the following year.
Nicole had described Lewis as her "soulmate", while Lewis's father Anthony called the singer "one of the family".
So maybe a reconciliation could be on the cards by 2011? Let's hope so...
