We knew it was only a matter of time before the backlash against Lindsay Lohan's drug confession via Twitter began.
Sources in the US are currently claiming that the troubled starlet laughed and drank whiskey while composing her confession before posting it on the micro blogging site.
The Tweet had read: "Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result.
"Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn't go away over night I'm taking responsibility for my actions and am prepared to face the consequences."
But a witness has now told UsMagazine.com that the 24-year-old actress was less than sincere while posting the message and had a male friend advising her on how to make it sound "more personal".
They blabbed: "Her friend would say, 'No, use 'setback,' don't say 'mistake.' 'They'll say you make mistakes all the time!' The friend went on, 'It's better to say you're responsible. Denying it will just get everyone mad per usual.'"
Apparently Li-Lo responded by "giggling" and demanding her assistant order her another whiskey and coke.
Before the series of Tweets were posted on Twitter, they were sent off to her management team, which includes Larry Rudolph who was famously responsible for getting Britney Spears' career back on track. But the witness added that the star wasn't "emotional" and joked about the fact she was drinking Jack Daniel's, telling friends: "What are you gonna do?" I'm ill" -- making air quotes with her fingers."
Meanwhile, another source has added to the US publication that Lindsay's mother Dina was over heard telling friends at her birthday bash over the weekend: "Who cares if it's true? Our new team is like a machine. They'll squash this.'"
Lindsay, who served just 13 days of her 90-day prison sentence for violating her probation relating to a DUI from 2007, could face another 30-days in jail for failing her drug test.
