Michelle speaks of void left by Heath

Michelle Williams has continued to speak of her devastating loss following the tragic death of ex-boyfriend and father of her daughter, Heath Ledger.
The 30-year-old Blue Valentine star, for which she has recently been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress, has admitted that there's a huge void in her and that of her five-year-old daughter Matilda's life since Heath passed away in 2008 of an accidental overdose - but has finally accepted that it can't be filled.
Speaking about her bereavement to US Marie Claire, the blonde actress explained:
"Obviously, for me and for [Matilda], there's a hole in our life. Of course the natural inclination is to want to fill it and make it disappear but what I've come to recently is that it's impossible. Nothing will fit in that hole because what we want back we can't get, which is this one person. I'm not going to rush anything and scamper around like a mad person and make myself crazy. I'm trying to be respectful of the absence. I'm not trying to fill it up. It is what it is."
The elfin star, who met Heath on the set of Brokeback Mountain in 2005 before dating for three years and having a child together, took a year off to come to terms with her grief and to support her then three-year-old daughter.
She continued: "I didn't work for a year. I needed to gather myself and put my life back together. I had to be dragged back to work, basically, because I finally had my life in some kind of order, and I didn't know what would happen if I introduced work into it."
And on her personal life now, Michelle admits that despite the rumours, she's not dating her on-screen Blue Valentine lover Ryan Gosling - even though critics have raved about the pair's sizzling chemistry and their intense love scenes.
Michelle joked: "My poor mom really wants me to meet someone. I think she wanted to believe the Ryan Gosling rumour more than anybody."
On potential suitors, she added: "I don't want to make a mistake that big, and that saddens me, because it's harder to let yourself go. I can inflict any kind of injury on myself, but with my daughter, that's not an option."
Both Michelle and Gosling are tipped for Oscar nominations for their roles in the sad love story, set to be announced later this month.
