Miley Cyrus could be in "a great deal of danger", claims concerned father Billy Ray, who has also lamented the very existence of hit Disney show Hannah Montana, which he says has "destroyed" his family.
The 18-year-old star has courted controversy ever since she became famous; most recently when a video of the starlet smoking a bong with friends during her 18th birthday was leaked online.
Before that there was her raunchy (yet fully-clothed) lap dance with an older man during the wrap party for her film, The Last Song. And prior to that, of course there was the infamous Vanity Fair shoot of the actress wrapped in just a sheet.
So now Billy Ray, currently separated from Miley's mother Tish, his worried about the negative influence her so-called friends could be having on her.
The Achey Breaky Heart hitmaker said:
"Every time the train went off the track... her people, or as they say in today's news, her handlers, every time they'd put the blame on me. I took it because I'm her daddy. OK, nail me to the cross.
"I'm scared for her. She's got a lot of people around her that's putting her in a great deal of danger. I want to get her sheltered from the storm. After the incident with the legal high, her handlers told me it was none of my business. I should have said, 'Enough is enough - it's getting dangerous and somebody's going to get hurt.'
"Honestly, I didn't know the ball was out of bounds until it was way up in the stands somewhere."
Billy Ray also added that Hannah Montana was mostly to blame, adding:
"The damn show destroyed my family. I hate to say it, but I'd take it back in a second."
