Will she become a Cheryl Cole (huge success) or Nadine Coyle (bit of a flop) - only time will tell; Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts has reportedly signed a lucrative solo record deal!
According to the News of the World, the red-headed style queen has been offered a "mega-bucks" contract with Universal and has already recorded the majority of her debut album, which is expected to be released in 2011.
Talking to the paper, an insider blabbed:
"Everyone's so excited about Nicola releasing her own album.
"She's very quietly been recording in the studio for the last few months. She's working with some great people and coming up with some great stuff.
"She's being guided by a lot of people who have been involved with Girls Aloud in the past so it's going to be a great record."
Of course, Nic, Cheryl and Nadine aren't the only band members to have attempted a solo career - Sarah Harding recently told the Mirror:
"I'm so excited about going into the studio. I haven't completely settled on what kind of music I'm going to make yet, but I would love it to be something like Lady GaGa.
"She is the new Madonna as far as I'm concerned."
