We totally understand Spanish stars Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem's desire for privacy concerning their personal lives; when their new baby was welcomed into the world they reluctantly released a statement as confirmation. They refused to share the sex of their new arrival, which was leaked to the Spanish press as a boy, and now it would seem that his name might have been too.
Spanish director Santiago Segura accidentally let slip during a press conference, when criticising reports for invading the Oscar-winning couple's private life, and said: "I know what you want and you don't understand why they don't come running to show off the baby and say, 'Look, here's Leo'."
When asked if Leo was the newborn's name, Segura stumbled and added: "Yeah, Leo. I think so. That's what I think I heard. But they haven't said anything."
The 35-year-old star gave birth in LA last month with the 41-year-old No Country For Old Men actor by her side. The pair married discreetly in the summer last year.
Bardem is currently nominated for another Academy Award, this time for Best Actor In A Leading Role for his part in Spanish film, Biutiful.
Sadly their reps were unavailable for comment.
