Rihanna will come face to face with her ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown, in court next month over allegations he assaulted and threatened her after a fight in February.
Rihanna and Chris Brown are now estranged despite rumours they had reconciled and even eloped.
The alleged attack reportedly took place after a pre-Grammy party, causing Rihanna to pull out of performing at the award ceremony. Rihanna's lawyer has been informed that she will have to testify and appear at a preliminary hearing on 22 June to determine whether there is enough evidence to continue the case against 19-year-old Brown.
Donald Etra, her attorney, said: "The judge advised me that there will be a subpoena for Rihanna as a witness at the preliminary hearing. She will definitely comply."
Brown will be present when she testifies.
He added: "He has to be here anytime a witness is called."
He faces charges of assault and criminal threats too.
Both Rihanna and Chris Brown have kept quiet since the incident, until yesterday, when Brown posted a message on the internet to defend himself and claim he's not a monster. Oh and that he will be releasing an album in the summer...
