Tess Daly has announced that she and husband Vernon Kay are currently "working through" issues resulting from Kay's recent admission to sending explicit text messages to other women.
The DJ and 'Family Fortunes' presenter, 35, made the shock confession after Page 3 model Rhian Sugden told a tabloid that he had been sending her text and Twitter messages of a sexual nature for up to four months. Kay later apologised to listeners on his Radio 1 show, lamenting that he had let down "a lot of people", namely his family, for which he was "very sorry".
Tess, 40, who has two daughters with Kay, Phoebe, 5, and 10-month-old Amber, told the Daily Mirror: "The past few weeks have been tough, but we're working through it. I've been really touched by the support from the public and it feels great being back at work."
Earlier this week the pair made their first public appearance since the revelations, at the Prince's Trust Celebrate Success awards. It was reported that the couple look strained with eyewitnesses commenting that they barely looked at each other backstage.
But Tess is determined for their seven-year marriage to last for life, much like her parents, adding: "Away from the cameras we have a pretty normal lifestyle. Our parents were married for life so that's the attitude I have gone into marriage with. That's what I expect."
We hope Vern realises how lucky he is...
