The Carrie Diaries gets green light

Rejoice! It might not a reunion of Sarah Jessica Parker et al, but Carrie Bradshaw is heading back to our screens (and into our hearts).

US network CW, which also makes Gossip Girl, has ordered a pilot for a weekly series, which will be produced by The O.C's Josh Schwartz, most recently seen working on Rachel Bilson's Hart of Dixie.

As for the all important lead, Miley Cyrus, who enjoyed a cameo in the film sequel, has expressed an interest in it, having previously said:

"I'm not attached [to the project], so I don't want to say that, but that would be very cool."

Based on a novel by Sex and the City author Candice Bushnell, the show will follow a young Miss Bradshaw as she graduates high school. We cannot wait to see her wardrobe from back then!
