She continued: "It didn't seem unlikely to me that he could walk through a door or could appear behind a bush. It was a year of very magical thinking, and in some ways I'm sad to be moving further and further away from it."
And on trying to make sense of her loss and Matilda's, she said: "I've found meanings around the circumstance, but the actual event itself still doesn't... I can't find a meaning for it. Meanwhile, Michelle's career has flourished and she's just been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress for her performance alongside Ryan Gosling in Blue Valentine.
Speaking about her talent, Gosling gushed: "She's like Brigitte Bardot meets Clint Eastwood. She's like a sexy cowboy or something. Creatively, we are doing it. Creatively."
And when asked if they are at all romantically involved, despite Gosling being linked to Gossip Girl star Blake Lively, he added: "No, we're professionals."
Michelle added: "He looks like he's lying, but he's not!"
