Kylie Minogue, James Corden and Matthew Horne made an uneasy presenting trio. We\'re not sure if Kylie really got the Gavin and Stacey boys\' antics. Our favourite performance of the evening came from Girls Aloud who sang The Promise amid a flurry of feathers and hot men. Earlier in the evening the group announced that they hoped to be able to perform at Jade Goody\'s wedding. "We are desperately trying to rearrange our schedule so we can do it. It\'s a very sad thing to have to discuss," said Sarah Harding speaking the The Daily Star.

Queen of the Brits, Duffy, bagged three awards including Best British Female and Best Breakthrough Act. Thankfully her speeches improved as the evening wore on, culminating in a teary acceptance speech for Best British Album which saw award presenter and national treasure Tom Jones proudly looking on at his Welsh compatriot.

Poor Coldplay, who were nominated for four Brits, gave a fun-filled performance of Viva La Vida (where can we get some of that lovely butterfly confetti?) only to lose out on every single award. The band, who by the way totally need to get themselves some new outfits, were later spotted performing at the War Child charity show at Shepherd\'s Bush Empire along with U2 and The Killers. "It was a sh** night." laughed Chris Martin backstage at the Empire, "We lost all the Brits, but it\'s got much better now".

Although the Ting Tings looked a little sad when they missed out on the award for Best British Album, the duo gave one the best performances of the night. Singer Katie White looked awesome as she strutted around the stage alongside Estelle for their mash-up/duet of We Started Nothing and American Boy.

Rumours were abound that former band-mate Robbie Williams would return for a one-off performance with Take That, but sadly the world was left disappointed as both Robbie and the live vocals failed to materialise. The award for Best Award Presenter goes to The Hoff! David Hasselhoff delivered a smooth performance as he handed Elbow the Brit for Best British Group. An awkward live-TV moment followed soon after though, as Elbow\'s lead singer Guy Garvey asked The Hoff if he fancied joining them for a drink later. Obviously Guy didn\'t realise that David has been battling with the demon drink for sometime now. We hope he wasn\'t to upset when David somewhat shamefacedly turned them down with a brisk, "I\'ll leave that to you."

Girls Aloud later picked up the award for Best British Single for The Promise which pleased the girls no end. Sarah Harding, who was ridiculously over-excited screamed, "Can I just say, it\'s about time! I think I\'ve just wet myself there..." down the microphone. Cheryl Cole managed a more demure response saying, "This is the cherry on the cake. Have a nice night!"

The Pet Shop Boys were awarded the Outstanding Contribution To Music by long-time fan Brandon Flowers (The Killers), who we now have a tiny crush on thanks to his obvious enjoyment in performing alongside his heroes for their celebratory medley. Also joining The Pet Shop Boys on stage was Lady GaGa who appeared to be wearing some kind of Delft Pottery outfit. Nice elbow pads GaGa.

Kings Of Leon were uncharacteristically chatty as they picked up their two awards, Best International Group and Best International Album for Only By The Night. "I don\'t normally talk, it\'s not my thing," said lead singer Caleb Followill as that band collected their second award of the evening, "we have to give this to England. If it weren\'t for England, Kings of Leon wouldn\'t be a band right now."
