Robert Pattinson has devised a cunning plan to throw his crazed fans off his scent so he can spend quality time unnoticed with his girlfriend Kristen Stewart - by deploying a doppelganger.
The 24-year-old Twilight star is reportedly being pestered by a Japanese stalker, who's also bombarding the hunk with saucy messages. So the British actor has hired a lookalike to confuse fans (and the stalker) so he can travel with his co-star 20-year-old Kristen without being recognised.
An insider blabbed to the Daily Star: "He’s become the focus of an over zealous group of female fans. Robert is constantly inundated with fan mail but one group of four girls have been targeting him repeatedly, telling him they want to do rude, saucy things to him. One girl from Japan has started turning up wherever he is. “She’s X-rated and repeatedly threatens him with kinky perverse phrases. It’s quite shocking. Robert thinks there’s only one thing for it and that is to increase his security and use a body double.
“It may seem a bit extreme, but at least now he can be in two countries at once and spend some quality time with Kristen.”
RPattz, who has just finished filming period piece Bel Ami alongside Christina Ricci and is set to appear next opposite Reese Witherspoon in Water For Elephants, is currently shooting the first part of the fourth in the Twilight saga, Breaking Dawn, set for release next year.
