Then Dave Berry arrived and was counted down to live and McFly opened the show. No trips or falls on the catwalk, no reading out the wrong winner in manner of Australia's next Top Model and no slip ups from the judges when it came to giving comments - everyone played it very safe. Art Director Adele and I glowed with pride when both Julian and Grace chose the Company shoot with George Lamb as their favourite pics of Alisha and Tiffany.
Joy kept it together pretty well when she was eliminated and Elle was on hand for consoling hugs in the ad breaks. Then it was down to the last two and they came onto stage strapped to a giant star - have to say I did worry about health and safety around the whole thing. Then it was time for former BNTM (and of course former Company cover girls) Lauren, Alex and Mecia to take to the catwalk. Joined by Sophie and Jade from last year but no Lianne who won season three (evidently she's 'moved on' yeah whatever..)
And as the winner was announced with a countdown and our Company cover was flashed up on the screen showing that Tiffany had won - Adele and I burst with pride and ribbons and pyrotechnics rained down. Then we went off to party with all judges and former contestants.
It was great to catch up with Lauren and Alex who have become friends even though their wins were a year apart - we caught up with them posing in the ASOS fashion booth (before we jumped in to have a go - really tricky act to follow though)
Next up in the NBF stakes - Charlotte and last year's winner Mecia who both come from Cornwall and who are now bessie mates. Charlotte has moved to London and is trying to give modeling a go. We reckon she'll do well.
Managed to grab five minutes with Grace who explained how she'd had a change of dress moment somewhere during the day and had decided to ditch her trademark specs. Julian McDonald told us he was happy with the result and had loved being a judge this series. And Charlie tried to get camera shy but we weren't letting him get away with that!
Elle by now had changed out of her amazing gold dress and into jeans and a grey cardigan, joined by her son and his friends she chatted to all the contestants families and as we left was last seen consoling Joy again about not winning. And that was it. We grabbed our ASOS goodie bag, a cupcake and waved a quick goodbye to the cameramen and directors who we've worked with throughout this series and others. Was like saying goodbye to our BNTM family - until next year!
So did the right girl win? Let us know what you think...
